DIY Seating Name Cards (Bookmarks)

I wanted to do something special for the seating card and was inspired by framed seating cards. I had something in mind, but I really doubted if I can accomplish it. My initial design was a bookmark (with the guests’ first name) slid into a sort of frame made from card stock. I have this most wonderful book of sampler design:

After thinking about it for a few days, I made the first prototype and immediately liked it. Surprisingly, the material is quite stiff, and it’s capable of holding its shape. In the end, I didn’t have to use the cardstock frame.

Backing is simple felt in matching colour of red and blue.

I used DMC cross stitch yarn, 825 blue and 321 red (Christmas red - I love Christmas red!!)

I ordered customised ribbon from www.personalisedribbons.com.au in matching red and blue colour as well.

This is another project I finished a few years ago, but haven't got any clue what to do with it.

Since my mum is here, I asked her to sew up the border to be hung up for decoration.

Cross Stitch - Puppy Love

This beautiful Forever Friends cross stitch was completed in 4 days only!! That was a record...

I love the details in this one, the Back Stitches are craaazzyyy... I think I spent 40% of the time just working on the back stitches. Phew...

Glad it came out fine...

The Beginning - Cross Stitch - Especially For You

Hello everyone... Finally, my first blog. I'll try to update this as often as I can. Most of the postings will be about my craft projects.

Let's just start with the latest project that I completed.

This Forever Friends cross stitch was started in August (3rd of August to be more precise) when I went back to Indonesia for my cousin's wedding. It took me exactly 14 days to complete it. I worked on it every weeknights, when I had time.
