Spring 2012 Cute Knitted Dress with Out-Of-This-World Laces

This project has been in my queue for a very looonngg time.
Finally, made it to the top of the queue this year. Just in time for spring.
I allocated 1 month for completion of this dress, but completed in 2 weeks. Winning!!

This dress pattern is of course from Garnstudio, I’m a big fan.

And please please please, check out this range of colour of DROPS Safran yarn. 

Seriously, if this doesn’t make you want to knit, I don’t know what will.... 

It’s like they have all the amazing colour there is on earth.

Lavender Purple Cardigan

After considering several projects to do with the remaining kid silk yarn that I have, I decided to knit up this cardigan. I like the simple design and I thought it would be perfect with the purple colour yarn that I have.

Surprisingly it took longer than expected, the needle is small and the lace like material makes this cardigan a bit of a challenge. I finally completed the cardigan in 25 days.

Now I have 1 more ball of kid silk yarn to finish :-)

Fingerless Gloves with Flaps

The third project that I did to try and finish up my stashed yarn is this pair of fingerless gloves with flaps.
The pattern is easy to follow and really interesting.
I made another pair, but didn't have enough yarn to knit the flap.

Flower Coasters

The second project in line to get rid of my stashed yarn is this placemat.

I have lots of Paris yarn from making summer blanket last time and the remaining yarns are made into these flower placemats.

Eskimo Neck Warmer

I have a bit of problem with my stashed of yarn. There are lots of remains from previous projects. So, I have put together a project plan in a bid to get rid of these balls of yarn.

The first one is this neck warmer. The pattern is free from Garnstudio. It’s very simple, just crochet in round and change colour along the way. Project was completed in 1 day. Used up 5 balls of Eskimo from my stash.

Kid Silk Scarf and Wrist Warmer

This is the second project that I worked on to use up kid silk yarn.

Finally I decided to make something for myself!! Didn’t realise that I’ve been making stuff for others for a while now. So, this is the first project for myself this year :-) so happy.

The scarf pattern is a bit confusing at the beginning, because the photo on Garnstudio website doesn’t show the pattern on the mid section of the scarf. I thought the mid part will be plain stocking stitch or rib stitch. However, I enjoyed knitting the scarf, I even continued making the wrist warmer which I didn’t plan before.

The yarn is amazingly warm, although it doesn’t look so.

Mum's Travel Wrap

I bought (lots of) kid silk yarn, they were meant to be made into the bridesmaid’s wraps, but the hue is not quite right. Although the colour is coded pearl grey, I think it’s more light purple in colour. So, I tinkered for a little bit on what to do with 12 balls of kid silk yarn and came up with a few projects to make.

The first one in the list is triangle shawl for mum’s birthday. I’m hoping this is light enough to be carried around when she travels and it’s warm enough to be used during flight.

There are a few patterns to choose from, but I like this one best. I actually tempted to make another one in a different pattern, but I have already set to make other things out of the yarn. So, maybe next time :-)
